FOND DES BLANCS

Fond des Blanc is a town located in the South Department of Haiti in the Aquin Arrondissement.

In 1804 after the Independence WAR from the French some of a military force of Poles from the Polish Legions that had fought in Napoleon's army refused to fight against blacks, supporting the principles of liberty.

Today, descendants of those Poles who stayed are living in Casale and Fond des Blancs.

My Great Great Grand Father was Nissage Guirand (1898) he married Altagrace Torchon and they had one chid Alice. They were born in Fonds des Blancs, Haiti.

SAUT D'EAU

Saut-d'Eau (Sodo) is a municipality of Mirebalais, in the Center Department of Haiti.
Its name is French for 'waterfall', named after a large waterfall called 'Le Saut'. The area holds cultural significance in Haiti, to the vodou practitioners.
Annually, the falls are the site of a large, important religious pilgrimage, during the festival of Our Lady of Carmel, from July 14–16. A Eucharistic rite is held during the festival, as well as various vodou rituals, but the penultimate devotional activity is bathing in the waters of the falls, and asking favors of the Virgin or Erzulie.
